Acer Iconia Tab A100

When I went by the Acer concept store last weekend, I saw the smaller brother of the Iconia Tab A500 being fiddled around with one of their attendants there.

I asked for a specifications flyer but they apparently just received the device as well and don’t have one yet. The Iconia Tab A100 is a 7 inch Honeycomb tablet, one of the very firsts of its class. They’re retailing it for about 18000 which I think is a viable enough price point considering all the other 7" Android tablets around are not carrying the tablet oriented OS and are within the same range. Whats more is you get the dual core Tegra 2 with it, good cameras front and back – the same ones on its bigger counterpart, mini HDMI out, USB host, practically everything found on the A500 only with a smaller screen and resolution.

What they’re selling right now is just the WiFi version and the price is just for the 8GB version which of course can be supplemented with a micro SD card.

It is not a phone to be certain (like the original Galaxy Tab) and can probably be most closely compared to the HTC Flyer by current standards only with better game support (Tegra) and tablet app compatibility due to Honeycomb. So if you’re looking for something out of the ordinary set of tablets being carried around, you can grab one at your nearest Acer concept store and enjoy Honeycomb goodness in a relatively portable package.
