Samsung Wave 3 Hit Local Shelves

I haven’t really seen much action beyond the appearance of multiple Galaxy variations from the smartphone giant so when I saw this box it was a pretty welcome sight.

The Wave line of Samsung is the very first of theirs to utilize the AMOLED technology and was undisputed during its time. The form factor is IMHO, sleeker than their top-tier galaxy phones and the operating system on these is the Samsung Bada. The Wave 3 is the latest iteration in this series with a 4 inch Super AMOLED 800×480 resolution screen, 4gb internal memory, microSD expansion slot, 1.4 scorpion processor, 5MP rear cam and VGA front facing cam, WiFi N, BT 3.0.

I didn’t get to ask how much they were retailing this for but it is aligned with phones whose specifications rise above most entry level devices so it might be anywhere from 12k to 16k. With the resurgence of Android it is highly unlikely that this unit will receive traction, but if you’re looking for something to separate you from the pack, this smartphone alternative is more than capable.

  1. Waves are more stylish than Galaxy line but one thing I don’t like about Wave is it still in Bada OS.

That is true, but I think Samsung is keeping the Wave series this way to cater to a particular audience. It wouldn’t be too bad if they married the Wave line to the Galaxy line though. Cheers!
