The current retail price is at 19k on the photo but I’ve been around shops selling them for close to 18k. As you can see from the spec list, it’s a monster in terms of processing power and supported PS3 games can be resumed with the handheld for when you’d need to; That alone is a tell of how much this will complement your PS3 system and stand on its own with titles specifically suited to its multiple controls i.e. Little Big World.

Knowing Sony however, you wouldn’t be mistaken to expect them to come out with a ‘slim’ version of this one in maybe a year. Almost all of their product line follows this trend but even then you cant go wrong with the sturdy build of the first generation anyway. (My brother’s first gen PSP is still alive mind you). I bought my PSP back in December of 2007, that’s four years of service that it had given to me and Id expect no less from this new one of theirs.

There are a few things I don’t like namely the interface, with its wobbly orbs, and the new proprietary card that this device would use, but I’m pretty sure that wont deter me from getting one anyway. Here’s to hoping some of my RPG favorites from Japan will eventually make US versions of themselves.

So if you’re itching for something new to waste be productive with your time, look no further than the PSVita. I hope locally it does release early enough officially so that the price stabilizes, but for such specs Id think the price is well worth it. If it will last me another four years (unlikely) that will cost just 12.33 pesos per day. It’s a steal!
